Privacy of Voter Information

Voter registration records are public records, although personal information contained in voter registration records remains private.

Personal information includes driver's license, date of birth, SSN and email address.

Your Phone Number

Even if you are listed on the National Do Not Call List, political calls to voters are permitted under Colorado law. This includes telephone solicitations that are:

  • Made for the sole purpose of urging support for or opposition to a political candidate or ballot issue; or

  • Made for the sole purpose of conducting political polls or soliciting the expression of opinions, ideas, or votes.

You can contact us at 970-429-2732 to request that your phone number be removed from your voter registration record, but this provides no guarantee that your phone number will not be obtained from other sources. Currently, there is no complaint or removal process established for these types of calls.

To reduce the number of political calls, we urge you to return your ballot as early as possible before Election Day. As soon as you return your voted ballot, campaigns and parties will see your name on our public turnout list, and can opt to remove you from further call lists.
